Privacy policy
Last updated: [DATE]
Draft: this text is being reviewed and will be finalised before InFrame opens in January.
This policy explains what personal information InFrame collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the site, and we never sell your data.
1. Who we are
[COMPANY NAME] runs InFrame and is responsible for your personal information (the "data controller"). Contact us at hello@joininframe.com, or write to [ADDRESS].
2. What we collect
When you join and use InFrame, we collect:
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored encrypted).
- Your profile: photo, cover, title, about, departments, seniority, software, experience, education, languages, availability, links, reel and artwork.
- Your LinkedIn PDF, if you import one: it's read in your own browser to fill in your profile, and the file is never sent to us.
- Activity: things like the projects you join or back, and messages sent through the site.
- Technical information: your device, browser and how you use the site, to keep it secure and working.
If you request an invite or register interest as a studio, we keep the details you give us on our waiting list.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to:
- create and run your account and profile (to provide the service you signed up for);
- show your profile to the people your settings allow, and help others find you;
- keep the site secure and stop misuse (our legitimate interest);
- send you emails about your account, and news about InFrame only if you've agreed (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
4. Who can see your information
You decide. Nothing goes public until you publish your profile, and your settings control who sees each part of it, such as your availability or contact details.
Studios and recruiters only see what you've chosen to make visible.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information.
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site, such as hosting, email and security services. They only use your information to provide their service to us, under contract.
We may share information if the law requires it.
6. Where it's stored
Your information is stored in [LOCATION]. If any of it is processed outside the UK, we make sure it's protected by approved safeguards.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your profile straight away and delete the rest within [30] days, apart from anything we must keep by law.
Waiting list details are deleted if you don't join within [12] months.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your information;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop or limit how we use it;
- send your information to you or another service in a common format.
Email hello@joininframe.com and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed to keep you logged in and the site working. If we ever add others, such as analytics, we'll ask you first.
10. Age
InFrame is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
11. Changes and contact
We'll update this policy when how we use information changes, and tell you if the change matters.
